This will resonate with many because it names the bait-and-switch so many of us do: we quit the chaos and call the quiet “growth.” But a calm life with zero exposure is just a better hiding place.

The line “clearing the field doesn’t mean you can play” is the tell. Capacity only shows up when there’s friction: awkward pauses, small disappointments, repair attempts that don’t go smoothly.

Also: “scan, predict, withdraw” is accurate. A lot of guys think they’re discerning when in fact most are rehearsing an exit.

Of coursr. And I'm guilty of all those things too. I was convincing myself that I was growing when I was just eliminating the bad.

Thank you so much, Gino. 🤍🤍

This is like reading you're thinking out loud, quite wonderful. You articulate the difference between growing and growth that is finished, looking at how far you've come and also noticing Work that is still to be done. This was such an interesting and thought-provoking read.

I often found myself thinking "I'm better noe as I've put it all behind me." I kept confusing elimination with evolution.

I'm so happy you had a good read. Thanks for the love. 💛💛
